About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm the kind of guy who likes to keep busy, keep moving, and keep positive. I am currently living in Manila (statistically the most over-crowded city in the world) and working through a second contract with the U.S. Peace Corps. For all of 2013 I will be working as a teacher to out of school youth who are members of a squatter population living the the tombs of the Manila North Cemetery. As frequently as possible I hope to jump around the country I've called home for the last two and a half years and see as much as possible before I head out for the next adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

The more a man knows about himself in relation to every kind of experience, the greater his chance of suddenly, one fine morning, realizing who in fact he is.
Aldous Huxley

Outside of a dog a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a book it's too dark to read.
Groucho Marx

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have joined in on some local C.S. events to get to know the Manila area. Because I only have a room in a staff house where I work it is difficult to host surfers, but I'm always more than willing to grab a (volunteer budget friendly) coffee or drink with anyone passing through the city who might like some (almost) local knowledge about different areas to visit in the city and country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've participated in a few Manila C.S. events in order to make friends and familiarize myself with the community.

Interests

Daily:
Reading / physical exercise (lifting heavy things repeatedly / cycling) / photography / teaching

Weekly:
Writing / hiking / additional biking / beers with friends.

Monthly:
Leaving my Manila in order to see other parts of the Philippines.
