ABOUT ME

I'm twenty three years old and now I have left college I'm interested in seeing more of the world. I'm interested in photography, music, surfing and scuba diving.

I love water and haved pursue loads of water based activities, including surfing, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, wake boarding and swimming. Anything to do with water I tend to enjoy.

I am outgoing and friendly and always looking to meet new and interesting people. I am very laid back about life and tend not to get stressed too easily. I was brought up in the Irish countryside and I love nature, so while I enjoy visiting cities, I love to escape to the countryside and I especially love forests and the coast.

I am currently mostly interested in music and underwater photography, but I enjoy portraiture and landscape as well. Some of my photos can be viewed on my flickr account:

I surf when the weather, time and conditions allow, and try to spend at least one evening a week in Lahinch, Co. Clare. I plan to expand to some surf photography soon, but my problem is that when the conditions are good I prefer to be in the water with my surfboard rather than my camera.

I have an interest in art and have pursued drawing and painting as a hobby for a few years. I am still learning, slowly!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to view life as a series of opportunities and experiences, you have good ones and bad ones, but they are interlinked and come together to make up your own life. There are things I regret in life and opportunities I missed, but every decision I have made has led me to as many good experiences as bad experiences, so there is little I would change.
I am trying to embrace life and not hold back at the moment, to not pass up opportunities where possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very outgoing and love to meet people. I tend to participate quite readily. I am quite laid back and relaxed so I am open to experiencing new things all the time.

I enjoy music and play guitar. I have tried to play piano and mandolin before, with varying degrees of success.
I enjoy scuba diving and dive regularly with a club in Limerick.
I surf, but rarely find the time to get out often lately.
I am also interested in photography and drawing.
I also enjoy baking and cooking!

音乐、电影和书籍

I enjoy a wide variety of rock, folk and pop music. Right now I am mostly listening to Iron and Wine, Joanna Newsom and Biffy Clyro.

I love to read when I have the time and I am a sucker for buying/acquiring books. Travel novels are up there as a favourite. At the moment I am reading the Old Patagonia Express by Paul Theroux, but I have read nearly everything by Bill Bryson, and I have stack of books a few feet tall that I am trying to work through.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In the last year probably two of my favourite experiences were:

1) When I travelled to a small village in India to meet friends and family of a friend of mine. They invited us into their home and showed us how they live, gave us some food and buffalo milk, then they showed us their fields and how they farm the land, we met some very friendly and welcoming people and it was a wonderful experience.

2) Recently when I was scuba diving in County Clare in Ireland and we met a dolphin. She was very friendly and came right up to us and swam with us for a while. We met her a few times on the dive and I was taken aback by how interested she was in everything we were doing. It was really nice to see a dolphin up close in their natural world and be able to interact with it.

I am always open to share knowledge and learn from people, from my work I have a good knowledge of maths and electronics. From my past times I know about photography and music. I enjoy working with my hands so I have practical skills as well that I can share.
