About Me
Hi there!
I am a young man, originally from the Midlands of England. I've lived all over the United Kingdom, and I am currently studying Business Management & Politics at Stirling University in Scotland.
I'm a man of many interests and hobbies, which include but aren't limited to woodworking, pyrography, fencing, mountaineering, travel, reading, writing, artwork, cooking and running. I'm much more of a country guy than a city boy; I enjoy wide open spaces and fresh are. This is not to say, however, that I don't enjoy visiting the big cities for a taste of the culture!
I've travelled a little in the past. I took a road trip across the United States, spending most of my time in Illinois with a friend, and would absolutely love to go back and see Chicago again. I also journeyed through France and Switzerland into Italy a few years back, which was an experience to remember!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, next year I'm looking to go on quite a big trip for my first time truly travelling on my own. It is my hope to backpack along the Western and Southern coasts of the United Kingdom (starting in Scotland) to Dover, get the ferry to France, and then be on my merry way through Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Sweden until I arrive in Norway. My hope is to travel from Oslo all the way to the North Cape, and then catch a ferry to Iceland, and then a ferry to Scotland.
This is a big trip for me personally, and I would absolutely love the opportunity to meet lots of new people and make lots of new friends along the way. That, in essence, is why I'm here. I'm not the kind of guy who minds living in a tent for a few months - and indeed I'll be taking one for my time in the wilderness - but I want to meet people who I'll know forever, and that's why I'm here.
