About Me
I'm new to Couchsurfing, so I will update my profile as I go along.
Short story is I'm newly retired since Oct/21, which has opened up my calendar to do more traveling. My first major trip was back in 1989, 10 months long (Cook Islands/NZ/Aus/Indonesia/Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand/Fiji) and I've had the travel bug ever since. I also lived, and worked, in Indonesia for 2 1/2 years, and in Vietnam 1 1/2 years, which made me fall in love with SE Asia even more.
Since then, I have been able to get my travel fix with work trips and personal trips over the years. Toughest decision for traveling is whether to go back to places that I love or pick a brand-new place each time. I find there is no wrong answer as long as I get to travel. 😊
Also, I'm married with 3 grown boys, youngest still in university.
When I travel to places, I love taking walking or biking tours to get acquainted with the area, and it helps me decide where to explore further. Great hiking opportunities are always a priority. And if I can find a back-alley craft beer taphouse, I'm in heaven.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard from a few friends what a great experience they have had as travelers and hosts, so I wanted to sign up mainly to connect with people in the locations to which I travel. Will try setting up some hang outs and hopefully over the years try as a visitor and host. Look forward to hearing other people's stories of the world and connecting with like-minded wandering souls!
