Hello! My name is Daryl Love. I currently live in Fort Collins, Colorado where I am a barista and free-lance photographer. I have lived in Colorado for 5 years. I was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I grew up taking private lessons for piano, competitively swimming and running, playing a ton of video games, and trying to convince my mom that college is not for me. I attended college for two years and then dropped out. I moved to Colorado to start over and here I am. Last year, when I was 25, I traveled outside of the United States for the first time to Argentina. It was for photography and it completely changed my life. The rush of experiencing a new culture is unimaginable and I am now hooked to the feeling. I enjoy meeting new people, cameras, listening to live music, art of all forms, film cameras, dancing, festivals, camping, hiking, more cameras, and the anything that keeps me active.

I began telling people how I wanted to travel more immediately upon returning from South America. Most people recommended I checked out Couchsurfing. Upon further research, it does seem like a better option to hostels and hotels. I do love meeting other travelers but couchsurfing provides direct connection with locals and natives. I want to experience the culture and lifestyle of people who live in the cities I am visiting. While I do plan on staying in a hostel or two, I thought this would be a great option if the opportunities present themselves!

I. Love. Music. I am not biased when it comes to music. I love Jazz, Acoustic Indie, R&B, Hip-Hop, and anything I can dance to. I have not read many books lately. I mostly read blogs or anything related to photography. Movies is easy. Harry Potter, James Bond, and anything sci-fi are my go to choices!

I dropped out of college, moved everything to my mom's house in Tennessee, then packed a suitcase and bought a one-way ticket to Colorado. I had never visited Colorado, nor had any plans for when I arrived. I slept on a friend of a friend's couch for two weeks. The new start was everything I needed and damn was it worth it!
