Hi, I’m Dave — a lifelong learner, traveler-in-training, and former workaholic who’s slowed down enough to enjoy the world again.

I’ve spent much of my life in media and nonprofit work (currently volunteering for a student-run news organization), and I run my own digital marketing consultancy. That means I can work from almost anywhere — but i really hope to retire early and soon, maybe in 2027!

I’m curious about people’s stories, local quirks, and the kind of small-talk-that-turns-deep over coffee or a walk. I’m not a big partier, but I do enjoy good old fashioned or a whisky along with conversation, humor, and the occasional shared meal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m hoping to travel more in 2026 — especially to Hungary, where I’m learning the language and planning to spend some time studying.

While I’m mostly looking to surf and meet people, I can also host occasionally. My home is simple but comfortable.

I'm also open to meeting locals that might be doing some outdoor activities.

I tend to like rock and alt rock most but enjoy some pop too. I don't read as much as I know I should. Haven't seen a movie in a while but really liked Everything, Everywhere, All at once.

I surfed and snowboarded on the same day when I lived in Huntington Beach.
