About Me

Soaking up all the wonderful small moments of joy that every single day provides for us.

Hey everybody,

I think its hard to talk about oneself, isnt it? But lets give it a try and step back to get the right perspective.

I am David, grew up in Germany and Switzerland, where I made wonderful experiences of life, like learning how to handle a bike and how to squelch stones to a fine powder. Never I will forget the smell of these process. While I was growing up I moved to Karlsruhe, a wonderful small town in the southern part of Germany where I went to high school.

I began my chemistry studies at the LMU Munich, but moved after my basic studies back to Karlsruhe to continue with my diploma studies. At the moment I am soending half a year in Boston and got the opportunity to do some research in the field of 18F-chemistry. :)

Since I was convinced that there are more facets of life, which will be worth to be explored, I worked in Switzerland in a hotel and guided snowboard trips and worked on a farm in the south of Norway. Stil impressed of the wonderful way of spending the life together I left Scandinavia.

The basic principle in my life is to live a christ-like life. This means a lot to me and is the major mission of my life. Its wonderful to hang on the old values to give joy and peace to other people with the security in the heart, that our heavenly father has provided a wonderful goal.

So in my opinion life on earth is all about experiencing the wonderful presence of other human beeings and giving everybody joy, peace and respect.

I dont care about money and fame since I see no point in beeing proud of your own achievements. One could think that he made it in his life, but there are so many given parameters you cant change which could avoid your success, that I think it is more about beeing thankful and humble. And I think the duty of these who is mighty, famous and have a lot of money to carry the weaker ones.

I love hanging out with people who are a little bit crazy in the way that they simply do crazy things without asking what others may think about. If you got the drive to do something, just do it, if you have the feeling that it will cause joy for you and others. Thats another facet of me, I love beeing sponteaneous and getting in touch with people and have a great time. The time will be even greater if you are able to dig deeper tohgether and build up the wonderful foundation of a friendship.

Focused on the most important things in life to gather all the single moment of joy that life provides for you and me, thats the way how to spend our lifes.

I also like hanging out and having fun, thats another point life is about. There are great experiences to make and good feelings to feel. The presence of friends you cant buy. And the wonderful feeling to be carried by your friends even if you are thousand of miles away is one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever made. I always want to remember that its not most important to accumulate money or fame, but to try to live our life together, which is often two ways of living your life which are completely contrary.

Only together we can achieve a wonderful experience of life for everybody.

I am hardly excited for everybody I meet and wont to be told all the wonderful experience and feelings every singleone of us could make in his life so far. Then lets carry on, lets do some crazy things and carry on. We dont need much in our life to experience the wonderful beauty of life.

Life is less about me but more about us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I live in a shared appartment at the moment it is more difficult to host somebody, but I am still in the evaluation process with my roommates and one day our couch will be open :)

I did couchsrufing in Norway and the US and want to continue this wonderful and valuable experiences. Its a great opportunity to come together and feel the vibe of the people aroung you.

I really appreciate learning from each other since everyone made special experiences in his life which could be shared with everyone. In my opinion this is one of the most important things in life.

Its not all about sharing the great moments but sometimes about sharing the mistakes to avoid others to do the same.

Since I am a chemist I also love to consider chemical questions and exploring nature in every way. To meet new people will be one of the routes to expand your personal understanding of the behaviour of life. It is our mission to live together and this means to respect everybody.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen to almost all kinds of music. There are usually special situations in life which were perfectly described by music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dashing through a corn field with an old car and having a lot of fun while running on large hay balls.

Lost a tooth in the north of Sweden at the end of a hiking tour. Tried to fix it with a dried plum, which was very sticky and the only thing I had with my to give it a shot. Then I met these three hikers and two swedish girls and we spent a night at midnight sun in a tent and everybody wrote his message on a sheet of paper and sticked it into "grandma" (an empty whiskey bottle). We decided the same evening to continue our journey together, choose a goal, fixed my teeth on the way down and took a train from the north of sweden to the south of France where whe spent some nice days together. It was an amazing experience.

Experiencing the wonderful value of friends on a hut in Czech republic.
