CURRENT MISSION

Live life - Love life - Make a positive impact on everything that I encounter.

ABOUT ME

Philosopher, explorer, artist, writer

PHILOSOPHY

You live once ... make the best of this life. Keep an open mind to everything that you experience. Accept people for who they are ... and do not get frustrated/angry that they are not "who you would like them to be". Cherish those that accept you for everything that you are ... distance yourself from those who want you to be different than who you are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have traveled in Europe and know how expensive hotels are and how crowded hostels can be, so I have a great couch and am located in a great location in Los Angeles for someone to get from my place to anywhere that they want to visit in the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted some couchsurfers when I was living with an ex-girlfriend. I was hesitant at first to have strangers in my house, but all of the experiences have been good and have met some great people. My ex is now in Europe and has used CS when traveling to many countries, so I decided to create an account and let others stay at my place.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Amazing to me ... maybe not to you :) I was driving on a Los Angeles freeway one night, when I noticed there was a car accident ahead of me that had just occured. I slowed down and stopped my car in front of the accident. Apparently there was a bunch of cars driving together someplace and one of them got into the accident, so the other cars had also pulled over on the side of the road. As a result of the accident, one of the passengers in the car was hurt, where I got out of my car to assist until the highway patrol got there ... where at that point, there wasn't anything more that I could. There were about 7-8 other people who were friends of the car that was in the accident, where I was talking to them for a while as they were shaken up over the situation. I was about to get back into my car and drive on, when one of them summoned the other friends over and wanted to pray (to God) about the situation. Me, being a non-religious guy wasn't interested in participating, but this one girl asked me if I would. In the past, I would have refused, but I knew this meant a lot to these other people, so we got into a circle, on the right-hand-lane of the freeway and "prayed". I didn't know who to pray to, but went along with what the girl was "asking of God", and it was interesting that for the first time, I just decided to pray along with them. They knew I wasn't into it, but thanked me for participating ... and although I'm still not religious, it was such a good feeling to know that although the prayer didn't do anything for me, it meant so much to these other people that I participated and at that moment I learned to be more tolerant of other people's beliefs from that experience.

The key to happiness is accepting "how things are" and not your perception of "how things should be".
