Overview
About Me
I'm 18 years old ("age 20" is a mistake). I recently graduated from South Louisiana Community College and Early College Academy with an Associate's Degree only hours after I received my high school diploma. I'll be attending LSU in the fall, and I only expect to be using couchsurfing without a break for the remainder of the summer (I don't have the means to host yet, however). I take education very seriously, but that's only because I enjoy it. I'm going to study botany, nutrition, and food science. I love to explore the city by skating, and I play a bit of guitar, but I haven't had time for either this past semester, but aim to practice both over the summer. I believe I'm a very loving and friendly person, and I see the best in everyone, and only see the worst if it's for my safety. I have a very particular personality (INFP Myers Briggs, if you're familiar); I seem reserved but I'll open up fully to anyone who I'm engaged with in deep conversation. I also have a tendency to want to "take care of my own." By that I mean I love to host people in my home and cook, or be the one to drive the group on a road trip, etc. If we have similar interest in music, we'll be best friends haha, but there are too many genres and artists to list here.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard a lot of wisdom and insight from the older people who walk this earth, and I'm intent to listen. We were all told to follow our hearts, but conformity usually doesn't consist of that. I'm doing what I want in life (studying), and I want to see the country before I get caught up in school and a career, and before university is the best time for me to do it. I've always had a passion for living off the land, or just a vagabond lifestyle in general, and I don't think I can learn and improve in the real world without exploring it first, so here I am. Smooth seas never made a skillful mariner...
I am writing this a couple days before I've left home for a two month journey living out of my car, and I already have stories to share, so I will hopefully have more to offer by the time I meet with my hosts. I also enjoy cooking very much, and I take pride in it, but I taught myself to cook during high school (100% of which I was vegetarian, so don't expect me to know how to cook meat haha). Know that ill be living a frugal lifestyle on the road, but ill try my best to return the favor and respect of being allowed into your home. If all you want is to hang out and talk, then that's perfect. I have no intention to just use you for a place to sleep (I already have a place to sleep).
