About Me
Whenever I walk past my doorstep, there's new things ahead. Even in my home area I always discover new details – and im curious to widen my horizon in any interesting place on Earth. This curiosity leads me also to my profession: I will finish my Master's in journalism later this year, and already I'm working as a freelancer whenever I have the chance to. I love diving into topics and mindsets I have never thought about and always add new pieces to my jigsaw of the world – which is still far from being complete, I suppose.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting in touch with people, and turn strangers into friends. When I travel, I want to hear new opinions, stories and thoughts and I want to learn about my destination. Couchsurfing is a great way to explore a place much more deeply than let's say with an organized travel company.
Interests
Obviously, I like to travel, ha ha. The alternative way, which is also pretty obvious.
Apart from that I have played bass guitar in several (rock/prog/alternative) bands for some years of my life. I've been a scout for 20+ years and have spent quite some time in a sleeping bag in and out of the tent all over the continent.

Music, Movies, and Books
Tough choice, my musical digest spans from catchy but heartful pop (e.g. Katzenjammer, Zero7, Incubus) via crazy progressive stuff (e.g. Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Pain of Salvation), and rocky, sometimes even heavier tunes (e.g. Alter Bridge, Audioslave, Foo Fighters) and intelligent rock stuff (e.g. Muse, Queen, The Intersphere) even up to some classical music (e.g. Rachmaninow, Tshaikowsky, Grieg).
Movies is really hard to catch, I love everything that has real tension and a twist, just like In Bruges, Lucky Number Slevin or the British TV series Hustle. Generally, I like intelligent plots, jokes, characters and so on. There's also the most recent Tarantino movies, but I guess almost anybody likes them.
For books, similar storytelling rules apply. I like fiction that is somehow connected to real events like Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day. What I read far more than novels is journalistic stuff, formerly known as newspapers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had some epic moments in Africa, e.g. a walk round a volcano crater and a bicycle safari in Kenya, but also a ju-ju ritual in Ghana when I was kind of introduced to a rural community.
But if I had to name one and one thing only, that might be a canoe trip in the heart of Sweden, which is a long time ago by now, but I still recall it was pretty epic.
Teach, Learn, Share
Honestly, I don't know what this box is about. But I could teach anybody some guitar chords.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a brain full of thoughts on politics, culture, society and so on. I have a heart full of memories about journeys, and I have a pair of ears longing to hear new stories and thoughts!
