About Me

Hi, I'm David.
Here is a quick survey about me and two of the trips I‘ve made so far:

after school, I‘ve made an amazing trip trough eastern Europe with my best friends. We met a lot of interesting people and visited lots of great places and sights. It was an outstanding experience to learn about eastern culture and the people living there.
Within a month we had visited over 12 countries and even more cities. It was important for us not to participate in the mainstream Touristique program but to experience the lifestyle of the people and to get to know a little bit more about the world. We also tried to experience a little bit of art and therefore visited lots of museums throughout the trip.
When we were back in our hometown (Münster) me and a friend of mine decided to continue our trip and within one week we found ourselves on the train to Norway. This time we stopped at a lake in Norway and went hiking for ten days. At nighttime, we were sleeping in a tent. I also like this type of traveling apart from civilization and cities because it excites me to think about the crucial things in life beyond materialism and consume.

My longterm plans are to study medicine in Germany. But because of the huge amount of students who share this goal its not easy to get a place at the universities. So, for now, I start an apprenticeship to better my chances and to widen my medical knowledge.
Currently, I am living in the small town of Göttingen in the heart of Germany and work in a little cafe (Cafe Esprit) which I also recommend to visit if you are passing by (trust me they make tasty breakfast).
I would consider myself as a very open and flexible person and I suppose that this platform is an amazing opportunity for likeminded people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is to say that I’m completely new to this network. I'm on Couchsurfing because I think that there are a lot of great opportunities and people out there. I suppose this platform is the right thing to use for openminded and free people. My brother led me to Couchsurfing by making great experiences while traveling to diverse cities throughout the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Actually, I'm not into books right now but more into newspapers like the New York Times. The Washington Post is also favorable. For me, it is very important to stay up to date and I assume the type of media from which we get information matters a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I‘ve had the chance to participate in a movie about the crimes and cruelty of Nazi Germany. It is called „Nebel im August“.
