Hello!
My name is David, my nickname is Davbo, and I have popped in and out of using couchsurfing for a number of years now.
I enjoy working on creative projects and have made short stories, YouTube videos and computer games.
I'm a Christian, and would be happy to talk about faith if you were interested!
During lockdown I became somewhat of a language enthusiast, and I've been teaching myself German for about two years. I find it very fun finding words like Hochhaus (a sky-scraper is a high house, of course!) and Schwerkraft (gravity is... hard power?). German has taken me on a few adventures so far, and I look forward to going on more and continuing to find new ways to experience the language, and the different perspectives on life that different languages open up.
Recently I got engaged - my fiancée Polly is with me in my profile picture. We both live in Edinburgh, and enjoy escape rooms, video games and watching Bake Off together.
I also like funny jokes.

I've mostly been on couchsurfing to host, however I'm reviving my profile currently because Polly and I are planning to visit Germany soon (in November 2022) and we would love to meet some local people, and get to know some of the culture that way.

Books:
The Wayside School series by Louis Sachar are easily my favourites. I know they're kids books but they never stop being funny to me.

Music:
Yo, with music streaming I change what I'm listening to so often I don't even know anymore. Currently listening to some Jack White, and random German music.

There was this one time I was part of a world record attempt for the fastest musical ever produced. I played Benny Southwest in a production of Guys and Dolls that was on stage 22 and a half hours after the musical was selected.
We had the world record for around two weeks before someone else stole it off us.
