Couchsurfing newbie! I'm David, a junior at the University of Georgia studying math and geography. I love drumming, dogs, and running. I've been lucky to have gone abroad a few times, but I've never been out West in my own backyard of the USA, so I decided that this summer I'd go out and see it for my self! I'm spending June/July on the road hoping to see what's out there and meet some great people along the way.

Meeting people is the best part of traveling, so when I found out about Couchsurfing I thought it was perfect. Making friends along the way sounds like the best way to make this a great summer!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm always looking for music suggestions! I could use some variety there. Most recently I've been listening to: Alt-J, M83, Kanye, Bon Iver, Broken Bells, Arctic Monkeys, RHCP, Muse, Childish Gambino, and Electric Guest. Thank you Pandora.

Not a huuuge movie-watcher, but I do love Marvel and Christopher Nolan films, comedies like Hot Fuzz and Pineapple Express, and I guess some of the classics that everyone should have seen by now (though I've never seen Toy Story). I do love TV though, and I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, Community, Parks and Rec, Key & Peele, and the Daily Show.

Books? I know every single detail about Harry Potter. All of them. Try me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once shot a fly out of the air with a rubber band. I tell everyone this because yes it really did happen ask anyone. I didn't really expect to hit it but I totally did.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been drumming for 10 years (currently a snare drummer for the UGA drumline, I'm on tv sometimes!) and playing piano my whole life, so I like to think I'm good with rhythm. I've usually got a pad and pair of sticks on me so its always an option! Actively learning Spanish and cooking, two things I'm alright at but looking to improve.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A helpful attitude and some good stories! Pretty much whatever I can. I'm on the road all summer so I'll only be around for two nights at the most, but I aim to not be a burden to anyone, and to help out where I can.
