Overview
About Me
I'm going into my fourth and final year of my mechanical engineering masters degree in Southampton, UK in October. Currently I'm doing an engineering placement at Transport for London, helping to upgrade the existing trains and design future ones - interesting stuff, but I really have no idea what I'll do when I graduate!
Looking forward to a bit of time off and a few trips away as the summer ends and before I head back to uni.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While attempting to plan a trip to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in Milan (which is still ongoing..) my friend suggested it as an alternative to staying in a hotel. I hadn't even considered couchsurfing before but after looking in to it I wish I had signed up earlier!
Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to visit amazing new places and meet interesting new people who can give a unique insight into my destination. Hopefully I'll be able to give others the same opportunity too.
Interests
I love sport, and play tennis, squash and ultimate frisbee (yes it is a sport). Also a fan of football, rugby, cricket, cycling and Formula 1.
I'm always up for a board game or a game of FIFA, and enjoy discussing and learning about about history, geography, physics and engineering.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Pretty varied to be honest. Currently on a bit of a Hendrix binge (since basically discovering his music a few days ago, I'm ashamed to say), but I'm a fan of everything from Kendrick Lamar to to Pink Floyd to Daft Punk, and a lot besides. I always enjoy discovering new music so whatever you're in to I'll definitely be up for a listen!
My go-to albums: Daft Punk - Random Access Memories; The Maccabees: Given to the Wild
Movies: I saw No Country for Old Men the other day - pretty good. Recently I've enjoyed Interstellar, and can't wait for the new Bond and Star Wars films this winter.
Books: The most recent book I have read is A Game of Thrones - it took me an entire year, which pretty much sums up my reading habits! I have recently got into Isaac Asimov (of "I, Robot" fame) and so am looking forward to reading more of his work.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent 6 weeks in Zambia - worked in a school, visited Victoria Falls and went on safari in Botswana. Fantastic experience, amazing countries.
