About Me

Depending on where my motorcyle trip has taken me before, I may look a bit disheveled when we meet ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling and altough I prefer to sleep in my tent on my journeys I have also enjoyed hospitality in several countries. The last two years I traveled with friends of mine, and apart of having a feeling of safety and permanent company I experienced it as an disadvantage for getin into the countries culture. If there is nobody to talk with you automatically talk to the locals and experience way more, than you could experience on your own.
I think, I can be a good host too and I don't like it, that you should pay for having a place to sleep. So that is mainly my motivation ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many of them! I like good rap music, any kind of rock and metal, some country stuff, it really depends on my mood and what the artists are singing.
My favorite film probably is "Pulp Fiction" although I have watched it to many times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I once was going to Turkey my bike broke down at greecy, which was quite stupid but I decided to go on with my backpack, as my ensurance covered the transport of the bike back to germany. At some point when I already was in Turkey i decided to go on the "lykia youlu" a hiking path at the mediterran sea. I bought a map on which the where several points where you could refill your bottle. I had enough food for the next stage but sadly when I already walked for about 20 kilometers it figured out that all of the fountains for refilling my bottles have collapsed, were extremely dirty or the water was so deep down that I could not reach it. The temperature was about 40° C and there was nearly no shadow. After two days of walking with about 2,5 liters of water and no phone (should have taken one with me) I found a telefon cable and left the trail, not knowing if it lead to another abandoned village or not. Luckily I found a hydrant which was leaking and shortly afterwoods a village where I was offered Ayran and food by a worried woman.
Later I found out that people normaly don't do the hike during summer time and I understood why.
