About Me

Alright, so this section remains a work in progress - I'm quite new to CouchSurfing but I'll give it my best shot:

26 year old Australian bloke from Adelaide, South Australia who has opted to take his life to the other side of the world for a year or two. I consider myself extremely lucky to have a career which allows me to work and travel at the same time - currently living the dream I've had for years. After 4 months of backpacking, I've only just recently established myself in North Wales, UK for my first contract. As such I don't have a stable base currently, however I hope to one day have a set-up which allows me to host members of the CS community.

Essentially I'm an old soul trapped in a (relatively) young person's body. I consider myself affable, and I thrive off meeting new people. I have a tendency, good or bad, of being extremely curious about all things unknown - I was always the kid with a question. So to this day, I take any opportunity to broaden my horizons. I'd like to think of myself as very open-minded person who can hold conversation with absolutely anyone.

My average week currently involves:
- Trying to get back into exercise routine, mainly bodyweight exercises and running
- Easing back into the working world, adjusting to the 9-5 life
- Finding ways to de-stress after work
- Planning weekend hikes, lake swims and other outdoor activities in lovely North Wales

Things on my ever-growing ToDo List:
- A sailing trip from UK to Portugal
- To visit family I've never met in Southern Italy
- Adding to my short list of languages spoken

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that the best way to explore a new place is through the eyes of a local. If I'm booking a room on AirBnB, I'll often opt for a Private Room within someone's home.

If possible, I'd love to 'get involved' during my time surfing with a host. It could be as simple as sharing a meal or being shown around on a walk through the neighbourhood - to playing a group board game (I love chess among others) or spending the day out together doing . Having said that, I'm more than happy to be self-sufficient and just take a few pointers on what's going on in the area. I can just as easily keep myself occupied. I am quite literally chill with whatever suits my host's interests and free time.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, absolute childhood classic. Currently trying to read some Dostoevsky but I'm struggling somewhat.

Shawshank Redemption, cliche' favourite but I'll never tire of this film.

My taste in music is broad. I could be listening to Led Zeppelin one minute, followed by a Childish Gambino track, backed up by some Deep House or Electronic. Particularly fond of current Australian Music, slightly patriotic but. I'm actually terrible with genres, however I know when I like something, and that's when I'll chuck it into my library. I do love sharing new music with others however, so expect me to pull out the bluetooth speaker if you're up for that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking the leap to live and work overseas, the adventure has only just begun. Hoping to see as much of the world as possible in the process.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to learn another language. Would be happy to tutor you in the art of creating an amazing taco. Can share my skills as a Physiotherapist and give advice if anyone has a niggle or curious question.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love for the outdoors, adventure, food and friends. Perhaps a funny story or photo from my travels. Ideas and conversation. Music I like. An open mind. Literally a blank canvas, waiting to share a good time together.
