About Me

I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. After working as a seafaring captain for the last 13 years, I finally put the sextant away and am now happily settled-down back in San Diego. I've had a ton of cool jobs, including the one that I have now. On my free time, I like to skateboard, surf, snorkel, cycle and swim. I play a little bit of the guitar, banjo, piano and Im pretty boss with the recorder.

My wife Megan and I live together with our pupper in the Paradise Hills neighborhood of San Diego. We both have cars, however we enjoy commuting downtown and the beaches by bicycles and skateboards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife and I love to travel and visit new places. It's kind of our thing. It can be an expensive, secluded and somewhat-isolated experience. However, with Couchsurfing, the experience is much more personal, intimate and 100x more rewarding!

Music, Movies, and Books

Old metal, new funk, EDM, some reggae. I like any movie or show with zombies in it. I like to read baking cozy mystery novels, Jodi Picoult, and whatever my book club is currently reading!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Antarctica and played with seals for three summers.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im an expert navigator and wayfinder. I love sea stories, baking sourdough bread, and meeting new people. I would love to learn how to speak foreign languages, I love learning new games, and I love spending time with good quality people. There's nothing better than surrounding yourself with people who improve your life!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to bake! Especially fresh bread. I also spend a lot of time on Spotify listening to cool new music. I'm sporty, so I can run around and throw a ball. I like horror movies, but other movies are fine too, I guess.

Countries I’ve Visited

American Samoa, Antarctica, Bahamas, Canada, Chile, China, Guam, Japan, Mexico, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Samoa, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Virgin Islands, U.S.
