Overview
About Me
Hey There! My full name is actually David Garcia Zimerman and currently study in Germany. I like to define myself as a Global citizen since I don't consider myself to belong to any particular nation despite being Colombian born, throughout my life having lived in so many places I have learned that despite having imaginary borders between our countries, we are all Human beings, and as such, with all our differences and all the other good and bad things, I am proud to be one. Being a Global citizen, it is in my nature to love to meet other people from different cultures and languages, not only because it gives me a sense of diversity and belonging to our beautiful world (Which in turn encourages me to make it better even with little actions), but also because it helps me meet and understand others' philosophy of life which is always enriching.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I love to get to know different cultures and languages, as also being a die hard fan of history, it is no wonder that traveling is one of, if not my main way of experiencing what I love. The only problem is, that as a Student it really is hard to gather the money to also pay for a conventional Hotel or even Hostel, but since I have many things to offer other than money, and Couchsurfing is a community based on those principles (while also having awesome people for the most part) it is impossible for someone like me not to be in it.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music is Alternative Rock & Indie Rock, my favorite band is Radiohead and my favorite song is "True Love Waits" also by RH.
My favorite director is Quentin Tarantino not because of the violence but the different ways of describing the human nature that many have deep inside, and also how he plays with narrative and while doing so, creating an amazing universe between his movies. My Favorite movie is "Inglorious Basterds", but is pretty tied with Wolfgang Becker's "Good Bye, Lenin!". Other honorable mentions are "Amélie", "August Rush" and the whole "Star Wars" saga.
My favorite book by far is "Of Love And Other Demons" by Gabriel García Márquez, it just submerges you into a complete new level of consciousness towards love and how far it can really lead you to, in my honest opinion, it describes love's deepest nature better than Goethe or Shakespeare ever could. Other personal favorites are "If I Should Die Before I Wake" by Cornell Woolrich, "The Happy Prince and Other Stories" by Oscar Wilde and Benedetti's "The Truce".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climb the most active and dangerous volcano in South America.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be more than happy to teach English or Spanish and even a little bit of German to whoever's interested :)
I'm also up to sharing different experiences, as well as learning other languages and customs
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well besides my experiences and teaching the languages I know, I can also teach to play Guitar, clean up the place, do any light work (with guidance if I don't have any experience), cook even traditional foods I've learned to make on the different countries I've visited and share my food for my stay. Added to that, obviously, my optimism and company!
Countries I’ve Lived In
Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Germany, United States
