Overview
About Me
Average guy looking to expand my horizons one country at a time.
I currently work as a software developer after graduating from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Computer Science, 2009. During my time uni university I spent an academic year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I got my first taste of travelling thanks to the rising popularity of Air Asia in the region.
Despite working full-time I try to travel as much as possible, having currently explored Europe, Asia, the united states and Eastern Canada over the last few years with regular travelling companions or solo thanks to the generosity of Couch Surfers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm Couch Surfing mainly to meet new people, and see the places I visit from a local perspective instead of as a generic tourist. I like to travel alone sometimes but everyone needs company now and again.
I've admittedly little couch surfing experience as of yet, but looking to partake to get to know the locals. All very last minute, however, so I'm not sure how I'll fare.
Previously been unable to host due to living arrangements but now things have changed I'm open to hosting to pay it forward.
Interests
I enjoy video games, photography, movies, reading (more than I used to - I've made a start on some classics that I missed out on in my youth). I also have a new mind-set to try new things whilst I'm still young - like flying. I'm learning to fly, slowly. It's just like riding a bike, but not.
I've also become more active, regularly running and working up the ranks in kickboxing (I've just got my Orange Belt).

Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty diverse taste in music, from rock, a little classical, occasionally pop. Current favourite album: Imagine Dragons - Evolve.
Read mainly fiction, with the intention of working my way through the classics I missed out on when I was younger.
I have myself a cinema card so I like to force myself to watch movies i ordinarily wouldn't go out of my way to see which has expanded my views a lot more. However I still like to kick back, shut down and watch some explosions in a good blockbuster.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Perhaps the biggest adventure I took part in was climbing Kilimanjaro in 2016. Pretty exciting stuff, that. I'd love to do that or something similar again.
