LIVING SITUATION

I am retired, traveling full time, mostly camping out of and in my van at campsites up and down the US east coast. The winter of 2024-5 I'm house sitting for folks through trusted house sitters. I have family and friends in the greater Boston area and Cape Cod who I sometimes stay with, but no place I can currently (2025) host.

PLAY

My current sports are wing foiling and electric unicycle riding for local errands. I've been coaching wing foiling for a year, because I love teaching. See wingcoachdavid.com. I'm taking the winter (at least) off from coaching as I'm not planning on going to Florida this winter (2024-5).

FOOD

I only buy organic food for my own consumption. I started this for environmental reasons and now appreciate the benefits to my personal health as well. If you stay with me and want to bring food to share, please buy organic. When we connect I'll let you know some of the foods I don't eat. If you bring any of those it's fine, just please take the leftovers when you go, to reduce the chance of waste. I'm not "religious" about this, making exceptions to eat out, etc. But it's good for surfers to know my preferences.

ABOUT David

David his a wide variety of interests. He has had many "current favorite" pass times / sports or hobbies over the years, concentrating on one or two at a time and then moving on, revisiting his older interests occasionally.

He has been meditating twice a day since he was a teenager, first practicing Transcendental Meditation initially. He has sat with various meditation groups over the years. Currently he is focusing more on solo practice but still loves to do retreats with family members or friends when they are up for it. He used to try to encourage people to meditate. See faithtopractice.org.

David is slow to judge and quick to forgive. His favorite authors include Depok Chopra, Dr. David Hawkins and Thich Nhat Hanh. His latest teacher is Sadhguru, a man from southern India. He is known for his "Inter Engineering" program, many YouTube videos, environmental activism, and the book "Karma."

I have had quite a few very positive experiences staying in other folks homes. I have had an apartment in which I could host but I don't currently.

Interests

Full time mindfulness, teaching, playing / caring for children, woodworking, inventing, singing, playing music, reading, writing songs, writing poetry, writing in my journal, daily sitting meditation and occasional meditation retreats.

Years ago, I saw the northern lights when visiting Nova Scotia. That was amazing! I felt very blessed.
