One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As part of my Ph.D. research, I traveled up the far east coast of Russia and into Wrangel Island on an Icebreaker and visited remote locations via helicopter and cooperation with local natives for transportation - unforgettable.

As often as I do it, leaving the city and spending time outdoors for more than a day always leaves me awestruck - each time I remind myself.. "do this more often," but each time I have inevitably forgotten the feeling from last time.

Certain areas in Alaska amaze me with their beauty and simplicity. Ivotuk, Alaska - is just such a place. A simple dirt Airstrip in the northern foothills of Brooks Range.

Take Hwy 1 from Anchorage to Seward and hike Exit glacier.. breathtaking.
