I was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois. I cultivated peanuts in the Sahara desert before moving to China. I am currently an English teacher and Peace Corps volunteer.

I have been hosting people in Lanzhou, China for the past year or so. I hope to do some surfing during my travels through South Korea and Japan this summer.
