ABOUT ME

I am a fairly laid-back, but sociable guy. Good sense of humor and interested in a variety of subjects. I have lived abroad teaching English in Oaxaca, Mexico and then came back to work in Houston. I just quit my job after about a year and a half and saved up enough to make my first European trip!

I discovered Couchsurfing late into my last international trip, but had 3 amazing experiences in Antwerp, Loire Valley, France, and Melbourne, OZ

I have a pretty diverse set of interests. Besides the obvious universal interests (music, movies), I'd say I am very interested in current events, politics, cultures, languages, travel . I enjoy following and playing sports (basketball, lacrossse, american football, baseball, and recently soccer).

Music- Here are some of the Pandora stations that I have been listening to the most recently - Alt-J, Grateful Dead, Modest Mouse, Feist, Local Natives, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Jack Johnson, Outkast, Lil Wayne.

I have been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places in my life. I would say exploring ruins of Petra in Jordan may be the top "site" that I have ever seen. Climbing the steps to Macccu Picchu at sunrise was another amazing experience that definitely left me awestruck.

Hmm, I am a native English speaker and I can provide my own personal insight into American (specifically Texan) culture and attitudes. I speak Spanish fairly well, so could also 'teach' someone with very little Spanish ability.
