About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make it count.

ABOUT ME

Currently studying for a degree in International Relations and Modern History at the University of St Andrews. I'm originally from Glasgow, Scotland.

I'm a fun and outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people and having a laugh with friends. There's nothing better than a good conversation and taking the time to relax and unwind.

I get excited when exploring new places and have a lot of time for going out in the evening for drinks after a hard days work... even if work at the moment is reading and writing.
Trustworthy and loyal I love sharing experiences with people that can become stories to tell again and again. Even better if told over a beer!

PHILOSOPHY

Always being open to new ideas, new people and new experiences is what keeps me motivated. You'll always learn something new if you are willing and there's no better way to learn than talking to new people and making new friends.

Above all, you have to seek adventure because adventure won't come looking for you - as cliche'd as that sounds.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: I like a lot of classic Hollywood:Some Like It Hot, The Misfits, Scent of a Woman, Yankee Doodle Dandy, All of Hitchcock's films... well nearly! And international cinema like Jean de Florette, La Vie en Rose, Downfall.
We tried to educate my flatmate once and worked our way through the IMDB top 250 #uni...

Books: My reading varies at the moment I'm reading Timebends: A Life, Arthur Millers Autobio it's brilliant. I read a lot of non-fiction like Unfinished Life: John F Kennedy, Profiles In Courage, but I do love a good novel; The Great Gatsby (actually most of Fitzgerald's stuff)

Music: I'll listen to anything, but my choice is always Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Sammy Davis Jr. But if i'm out it has to be pop or something that'll sound good in clubs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed from Oban to the Faeroe Islands when I was 18. I'd never sailed before and I was literally thrown into the deep end on a 1,064 mile voyage. I sailed in force 10 gales and met 17 amazing people on the most intense journey ever. I loved it, and have loved sailing ever since.

Once I broke my arm in an arm wrestle in Germany. I'll show you the scar, and tell you the story.

Teach, Learn, Share

Definitely up for sharing and learning.

I'm a pretty good cook, it really relaxes me. Easily the best bit about it is getting to eat with people and the whole ritual of sitting down together to talk and eat. I'd be happy to cook anywhere.

Everyone has to eat.

I'm into my politics. Quite active at home. Scotland's facing a question on Independence next year so it's a pretty hot topic.

I'm a history buff, so theres always plenty to talk about.

Share and share alike! I'd be up for learning something new!
