ABOUT ME

Retired, USAF, since 1995. Everyday I walk my dog (a BEAUTIFUL German Shepherd, named "KLAUS") in the park. The rest of my day is spent working around my house, some socializing, and watching a movie on DVD in the evening.

I'm very happy with my relaxed life, and the company of "KLAUS".

Having been in the Air Force for 20+ years, I've lived in many places both in and outside the USA. I'm particularly fond of Europe, and REALLY enjoy Germany and Norway. My favorite city in Europe is Berlin. The best five years of my entire life was when I lived in Germany. I'm also very fond of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

I'm not a judgmental person; every person comes from their own unique circumstances, and everyone has their place in life.

PHILOSOPHY

Live simply, so that others may live. Share your material possessions as much as you can. Don't hold a grudge, but also don't be afraid to get angry and blow-up if you need to; but afterwards, put it behind you and move on.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, but do not seek a couch myself. I know from my earlier years how expensive hotel lodgings were, and it often limited my travel. Now that I'm financially set, I can afford hotels, but realize many people can't, especially young adults.

Traveling outside your country and culture builds knowledge and sensitivity that will reward you throughout your life!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There were times in the 1980s when I would fly back to the USA from Germany, to visit friends. They would put me up on the couch, and many times I shared the couch and/or floor with a dog or cat. It was completely comfortable, but it was fun and entertaining. There was never a bad experience, ever.

I enjoy movies, especially those that convey underlying themes. I also enjoy comedy films.

I love spending time with my German Shepherd - he was a gift to me from an ex, and he was just 8 weeks old when I got him. He is my big fur-baby and bundle of joy. He goes with me everywhere, and he has been across the USA many times.

I like to people watch. I like to eat out. I like cloudy weather, such as the Fall season. And I like to have conversations while drinking alcohol; in most cases, alcohol is actually a truth serum.
