I'm David, 26 as I write this but this month is my birthday so I may be a bit older by the time you read it ;)

I'm a creative; expressing through filmmaking, comedy and music. I sing, play guitar, keys, drums and a little bass. I love the sea, rivers and lakes, hiking, travelling, meeting people. I've travelled a fair bit in the last 6 years and have had many life changing experiences as a result, all unexpected. I think that planning your life is one way to limit yourself and life's potential offerings, so I tend to keep planning to a minimum within reason.

I intentionally seek discomfort and believe this gives me the opportunity to learn more about myself, transcend "limits" and live a happier and healthier life. I love to share these experiences with others, the more the merrier!

Some examples of uncomfortable things I have done/do on a regular basis: swimming in the cold Irish sea, daily cold showers, fasting, 10 day vipassana silent meditation, daily breath work & meditation, digital detoxes

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Initially I was travelling and spent time with some great hosts and community members. I have dreamed of hosting people once I was in the position to do so, and currently I'm blessed to have a home that I can share with other travellers and give back to the community from a new perspective.

Intereses

Music, both listening and performing. I play guitar and dabble in other instruments. I sing as well. I write a lot of music and released my debut album Learning to Breathe in 2019. I love ecstatic dance, it's so liberating. I consider myself a good chef as well - vegetarian food!

I like meeting new people, going to open mics, going to bars more so than clubs. Non alcoholic venues are great.

I daily practice yoga/qigong/meditation/breathwork.

I love yerba mate, a delicious drink from South America that I discovered from a couchsurfing host.

I can teach you how to play guitar and write songs. I'm a yoga teacher also. I can sing you a song, or you can sing me a song. Maybe we can sing a song together. I love to talk about life and explore how and why things happen to us, and how we can hopefully one day live in total peace... where the highs and lows even out to leave a steady line of calm and acceptance of where we are and how we feel at any one time in this wonderful world.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can play some music and I can jam. I can share the stories that I've got from travelling around and doing new things. I'm a great listener, so I'm a good person to have around if you need to vent! I've got good vibes as well that I'd like to share. I'll lead us in an asana (yoga) session to if you like. I can share some of my vegetarian recipes or cook us a meal :)
