ABOUT ME

I'm a 33 year old cultured University of Florida graduate. What gets me excited in life are things which revolve around competition, comedy, and culture. Those last two in particular fuel a lot of my travel adventures.

Now that I've traveled a bit, I want to learn about other cultures more. I've realized that the US is behind on a lot of things.

In Barcelona, our hostel had a common area and I met people from all over the globe. I'd love to do more of that, both here and abroad.

P.S. I've been asked. I don't have a lot of friends who have ever couch surfed. That's why I don't have a bunch of recommendations. But I can say assuredly that I'm a clean guy who doesn't do drugs, doesn't drink to excess, and has no criminal record.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm culturally unique in my own right, being Israeli and Guyanese. So I help broaden others' horizons as they do the same to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend Malin, who is from Stockholm, Sweden, told me about it a couple of years ago. She couchsurfed all through Europe and made some new friends and had some fun stories.

I can be spontaneous in my travel plans, so sometimes it's hard to find hosts (especially in a touristy area like Orlando).

I've been hosted a couple of times. In Savannah and Gainesville. I can afford a room but I'd rather make new friends and even find people going to the shows I'm going to whenever possible. (I like going to music festivals and hearing DJ sets at clubs)

In 13 days, I went from Berlin to Amsterdam to London to Manchester to Barcelona to Oslo. I planned the trip myself.

Also, apparently flying round trip to Europe and back for $765 on three weeks notice is apparently a major achievement.
