ABOUT ME

I travel a lot for consulting work, and extend trips or take side trips to really experience people and places. Being a little road-weary I am settled for a bit in Las Vegas, the city of bad decisions. ;)

I split my working time somewhat evenly between paid consulting and unpaid work on free software projects, including a major ERP and eCommerce project I started in 2001 when I really had no business doing such a thing, but it has turned out incredibly well. I'm now working on the next generation of that as a series of projects in a much more mature but jaded marketplace.

Much of my other time goes to exploring by motorcycle, foot, or other transportation as needed. I spend enough time in the gym to be able to enjoy exploring and get to places or out of scrapes that wouldn't be possible otherwise, but not enough to turn heads or inspire wanton stares (been there, done that, not worth it).

My pet projects and hobbies usually involve some sort of science, alternative and off-grid structures, natural health, survival, or voluntarist politics.

Although thoroughly introverted I enjoy passing time and traveling with friends, and love hosting for family and friends, be it for a few hours or a few days.

I've done more hosteling than couch surfing in my day, but enjoyed both and am now in a position to host... so right now mostly hosting.
