Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first discovered Couchsurfing back in 2016 and was instantly impressed by the concept. Soon after, I started hosting travelers myself. The idea of sharing your home for free and being hosted in return is not only great for budget travel, but what really excites me is the chance to experience a new culture through the eyes of locals. That’s what makes every trip truly memorable.

Interests

Nature, history, gastronomy, culture, rare traditions, architecture, and authentic local experiences. I love exploring hidden gems, learning how people live, and discovering the stories behind every place I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I’m open to almost any genre depending on my mood, but I usually vibe to funky, disco, blues, alternative, sometimes electronic, and pop.
Movies: As a teenager, I was obsessed with horror movies, but these days I lean more towards historical films, adventures, and sci-fi. One of my all-time favorite is Interstellar.
Books: Lately, I haven’t had much time to read, but back in my student days I loved classic literature. Nowadays, I’m exploring modern authors too. Maybe it’s a leftover from my teenage years, but Stephen King still remains my favorite 😄

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Seven hour train journey from Kandy to Ella . The train was completely packed, so I spent the entire journey sitting on the floor and hanging out of the open door. Hours watching the Sri Lankan jungles and Ceylon tea plantations

2. Swimming into the hidden waterfall cave at Wadi Shab. After trekking through the desert heat, I swam through the narrow, claustrophobic gap to reach the hidden cave inside.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m open to all kinds of experiences but I especially love culinary and nature adventures. I absorb everything like a sponge: stories, skills, tips, and perspectives. I love learning from locals and fellow travelers, and sharing my own experiences in return.

What I Can Share with Hosts
