About Me

This profile was originally from 10 years ago when I lived in Germany. Now, I live in Chicago with my partner and we have an extra bed/couch in the office.

I used to be a university student who paid his bills through entertaining kids’ parties. Now I work in finance customer service.

I was born Peru, grew up in a Bolivia, studied at the online university of Spain while living in Germany, and I consider myself and everyone: citizens of the world.

I prefer hosting people who do the same.

CURRENT MISSION

I am curious and excited to explore places and new cultures - I enjoy getting to know new people, sharing my time and exploring interesting places.
My mission in life, if I were to have one for the sum of my entire life would be "to Make the World a Better Place" to leave things better than I found them, I try to be a positive influence in the world by participating in voluntary work sometimes.
Participating in voluntary work led me to end up visiting the DRC Congo. Over my time in the Congo I thought of an idea starting a business there, a workshop/factory that assembles and sells PedLec vehicles similar to the Evovelo Mö Mö (look them up online).

ABOUT ME

Working and studying, learning and enjoying. I like reading and I wrote a short novel, and working on another one. Not published.
I live with my partner and pet snails and one fish.

PHILOSOPHY

There are beautiful things seen by the astronauts!
Give peace a chance!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My curiosity in exploring new places and activities coupled with meeting new people and learning about what interests them and motivates them is probably how I can best participate in CS.

I can host at my apt in Chicago where I live with my partner, I have a terrarium with pet snails, one pet fish and sometimes I house-sit a dog at my home. I could take you sight seeing nearby if our schedules permit it.
I like sports and outdoors activities, running, bicycling, swimming, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While living in Frankfurt a friend from California dropped by my place while on his Germany-tour, then we both went to Essen and stayed for two days with Ingo, a cool dude who accepted Jo´s CouchSurfing request; "and that is how I discovered this fantastic community".

Interests

The whole world! ... and Practicing my German language skills. Nature and wildlife. Acting and entertainment. Art and culture. City life parties. Sports. Music Festivals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2011/ Hitchhiked from Dusseldorf to Chemnitz, met-up with Jana and hitchhiked with her from there to Novi Sad - Serbia.
2012/ Hitchhiked from Cologn to Mont Marsan in one day, met amazingly cool and friendly people along the way. Stayed a week with some friends in Mont Marsan and then hitchhiked on to Madrid... flew to Turkey and hitchhiked back to Germany.
2018/ Drove my bicycle in the car from Chicago to Miami, then loaded the bicycle with a mini tent and cycled the 110 miles to Key West. It took me two days on my old mountain bicycle. Hurt my knees but enjoyed it. I did stealth camping on the beach and parks. In key west I slept in a tent on a boat hosted by awesome people.
2018/ & 2020/ visited my friend Madlen in Kinshasa, The Congo. Participated with a Volunteer project there.
