ABOUT ME

I was a fully qualified school teacher (modern languages) in Bristol UK, for 3 years until the end of 2009 I left my house, my job and the limitations of a 9-5 in the UK, sold almost everything and left for Cuba with my backpack and my saxophone. After 2 months in Cuba and 1 month in Jamaica, I'm now enjoying living in Colombia. I've love Bogota (but it is dangerous) and I'm going to the North coast(Taganga and Santa Marta) before going to Leticia to get a boat into Brazil and heading for Salvador de Bahia on the East coast. My objective is to jam and play my sax on stage as much as possible and live local, safe and happy.

Towards the end of 2010 I intend to move to Jamaica for a while because I love it there, have lots of family and plenty of music contacts. It looks like there is a lot of potential for me to earn a good living there and it is nice and close to South America which I love and intend to return to for work and travel.

Since I packed up and left I have just met the greatest people and seen how well we get on together. If you show love, you get love and people can read eachothers honesty - this is what life is all about.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Going to meetings and linking with people through CS At the moment I am travelling South America and the Carribean but once I have settled for a while in Jamaica I will lend up my couch to the projeco and make people welcome on it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed without the website until now. When I travel, I meet people that I connect with. On a number of occasions, when they hear my story, these people invite me to their house if they live in a coutry on my route - for example; in Bogota I lived with a girl I met in Cuba.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Raced a motorbike through Chartreuse in the French Alps, blasting past lines of traffic at 100+ mph towing a friend behind who was riding rollerblades.
That was 8 years ago (I've calmed down a bit since).
