À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

I had a comfortable "career" type path lined up for me back home, working a corporate for 4 years after graduating from university. I figured I wanted to see the world before I was too old, so I quit my job and decided to move to another country, New Zealand. I had an incredible year there, but wanted to keep exploring, so I backpacked through SE Asia for 4 months and have returned to America to help start a business. I'm always looking to see more of the world, visit a new country every year, and to get out of my comfort zone. I think I've done a fantastic job so far, but I'm just getting started :). I also want to meet others around the world to inspire and be inspired by.

ABOUT ME

I'm generally outgoing and make friends easily. Sometimes I get in the more introspective mood, but I'm always down for a good conversation or a laugh. I love exploring and taking the more unusual route in life. I'm into a huuuuuuuge range of things and always want to learn something new. Music, drinks, arts, museums, FOOD, and learning are always on my "to do" lists.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I didn't get involved with Couchsurfing until 2014, when I was driving across the USA before moving to New Zealand. I had a few "offline" hosts in Samoa when I stayed with locals, but those was random offerings while hitchhiking. I think this is a great way to meet others and to see the real happenings of a city, as opposed to getting dropped into a hostel or hotel where you may only see the big tourist spots.

Centres d'intérêt

I go out to bars with friends a good bit and enjoy building my repertoire of craft beers, which is the industry I work in here in Charleston. I love playing and watching sports, whether it be something I'm good at or a brand new game. I've gotten pretty big into hiking and enjoying the stars. I also love architecture and cities, however. I love going to concerts, whether it be a big name or local show. But mainly, traveling the world...

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I'll listen to any type of music. It just depends on my mood.

My favorite movies are Forrest Gump, Lion King, Inglourious Basterds, The Dark Knight, and Babe (among others).

There's always a book partially read in my possession.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

In July 2015, I spent 10 days hitchhiking around the entire country of Samoa, with no plans or reservations. I ended up meeting the most interesting people. I was a guest of honor at a church, appeared in a music video, drank coconuts (and vodka) with a village chief's son and family, and taught Math and English at a primary school... among countless other things.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

My general curiosity to get to know people, positive attitude, semi-decent cooking skills, and a wingman at the bars if needed :).
