About Me

Hello All! I'm David, a curious soul with a great passion for discovering places and experiences, creating and appreciating art, connecting with other amazing beings and having great conversations. I am a massive nerd and love science, so I just started working at a research publisher. Also very passionate about protecting our planet through a change in our society; that's why I studied a sustainability science programme.
Importantly, I always do my best to put myself out there when meeting someone and create an actual connection, regardless of their personality, background or ideas.
Great plans for me are going to museums, cafés, raves, cooking together, hiking, watching the sunset from a cool place or just going around exploring. I'm open to do pretty much anything!
I've studied Physics because I wanted to know how our physical universe works. Now that I (more or less) understand this, I've moved on to try and understand some things about how humans work. That's why I study social sciences, but more importantly, why I love the arts: every piece of art is a sample of the human soul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet likeminded and open people, share experiences and make friends all over the globe! Also to discover hidden places that are not on the tourist guides, the B-side of cities, and personal favourites of locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite bands are Chat Pile, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Skegss, billy woods, Unwound, Agar Agar, The Growlers, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin and a great deal more. DJs and producers I love include DjRUM, CCL, VTSS, SPFDJ, Nene H, Schacke....
As for movies they would be Punishment Park, Trainspotting, 2001, The Shining, Ulysses' Gaze and Midsommar.
It's especially hard to pick favorite books but some that have changed my life are The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Waiting for Godot, Fahrenheit 451, The Myth of Sisyphus, The Trial and Steppen Wolf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best things I've probably done is organise an outdoor midsummer party with my friends in Sweden a few years ago. Pooling everyone's energy together to plan and carry out the whole thing created a feeling of togetherness during and afterwards that was priceless

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of Spanish, English or German, the basics of DJing, photography or music production, and talk to you about hours about many things related to sustainability and social sciences. I'm keen to try anything new, especially if it's something creative or involves delicious meals!
