ABOUT ME

I'm a student, work in a bookstore, pescatarian, I love good music, good food, good books, and photography. Very political but I can keep it to myself, huge nerd, really just a 10 year old boy at heart. I eat, breathe, and bleed hockey during the season.

PHILOSOPHY

As long as you're not hurting anyone else or keeping them from reaching their goals, you can do whatever you want. And as long as you're not hurting anyone else, no one can tell you what you're doing is wrong.

I've hosted a few people but I have yet to surf any couches!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to CS but I definitely love all the wonderful people I've been meeting! I think CS attracts a certain kind of person, and I seem to get on well with that kind of person. Everyone I've met has been so kind and fun. I'm really glad I signed up for this.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by John Steinbeck, I'm a big fan of Canadian/American writers (Faulkner, Atwood, Chopin, Hawthorne, Cather, Poe, Munro) but of course I love British writers (Orwell, Huxley, Wilde, Dickens, DuMaurier, Woolf) too. Who doesn't?

I really like gangster movies (Goodfellas, the first two Godfather movies, Gangster No. 1, Al Pacino, Casino), Westerns (Butch Cassidy, the Man With No Name series, 3:10 to Yuma), but my favourite films are from the Golden Age of Hollywood (Casablanca, North by Northwest, All About Eve, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Wizard of Oz, It's a Wonderful Life, Rebecca, Rear Window, Vertigo, basically anything by Hitchcock, Mildred Pierce).

I love Canadian indie rock, indie in general, folk, metal, punk, hardcore, rap, hip hop, rockabilly, blues, jazz, basically anything that sounds good. My favourite artist is and always will be Bob Dylan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a Canadian but I only recently saw the Canadian Rockies. I was born and raised in Toronto and the Rockies are the single most breathtakingly beautiful thing I've seen in my life. You can't begin to comprehend how old the mountains are, how long before you they were there, and how much longer after you they'll stay. They make you understand how truly insignificant you are, and how incredibly powerful, frightening, and beautiful nature can be, all at once.
