About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the most of this life on earth because as much as I'd like to come around again, I'm not sure I'll have the chance.
ABOUT ME
I think you'll find me easy going. I realize we are each on a life journey and when paths cross, good things can happen! I love to learn and experience new things. God knows that in many ways I'm not the person I was 10 years ago, and I'm sure in another 10, I'll look back at this time and reflect on how my life has changed. With respect to travel, well, I'm not doing as much these days. So I'm hoping that some of you lucky souls who are wandering the planet might be able to stop in and visit a bit.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others (including the animals) with respect. I think the slogan "Live simply so others may simply live" touches on part of my personal philosophy, too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If you're passing this way or you're already in the area,I'd like to hear from you. My futon doubles as a guest bed and it's available. As my place is small, I imagine that some folks may prefer to stay with another who has more space. In that case, please feel free to let me know you're in the area -- we could meet for a coffee or something and I would be happy to help in other ways. For me, I think this is one way that I might be able to give back some of what I have received from so many kind, wonderful people across the globe. I'm not giving up on traveling myself, so I hope to come across others who are participating in this new phenomena.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS-ing has been a way to meet interesting people who live near my home -- cool people I might not ever have met had it not been for the website! While traveling in China, I met both Chinese and foreign CS-ers and they helped me to experience aspects of China that I probably would not have known otherwise.
Interests
You might have guessed by now, traveling is high on my list of interests. I love to be outdoors. And as of October 2019, my friends have introduced me to riding a motorcycle. It would be super cool to ride all over the world like Itchy Boots, who is so inspiring: www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0geCKCExFs

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to films, I'm thankful for Netflix. Recent DVDs that I've played are Anand, Quinceañera, The Young Lions, La Mujer de Mi Hermano, The Sopranos, The L-Word, Aimee and Jaguar, Cleopatra (Eduardo Mignogna film), Because of Winn-Dixie. For music, I enjoy listening to what is new when I'm with friends, but on my own or in the car, you're likely to find me listening to music of the 80s and 90s. Lately, I am listening to Kirsty MacCol, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Los Prisioneros, 10,000 Maniacs, an old BoDeans CD, and Carlos Vives. I typically read more than one book at a time, so it takes longer to finish a book... I'm reading The God of Small Things, Why Does He Do That, and a couple of books about new counseling approaches.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few summers ago, I spent time with Los Abuelitos de la Calle (homeless elderly people) in Quito and it was so amazing to get to know them, to share stories, and on Father's Day, to dance with close to 100 abuelitos and abuelitas! ¡Qué increible!
