ABOUT ME

I'm 25 years old, originally from Maryland but since high school I've lived in Virginia, Belgium, Kentucky, Florida and currently in Tennessee! Ever since studying abroad in Antwerp, Belgium I have found a love for traveling like I've never known before and have been to numerous different countries and over half of the US states. I love being adventurous and discovering new places with my boyfriend and favorite travel partner, Mark, who has just returned safely from a year deployment to Afghanistan with the US Army! Yay! I'm currently living it up in Nashville, looking forward to what lies ahead, and dreaming of my next big adventure!

PHILOSOPHY

I could say a lot of things here, but most importantly I try to live my life to the fullest and without regret. God has blessed me with some amazing opportunities and even more amazing people in my life who I will always be indebted to. My goal is to leave this world a better place than I found it and see as much of it as possible before my day comes to move on!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I do not have a couch to host. However, I love to meet new people through CouchSurfing and I'm always open to a drink and showing visitors around my honky-tonk home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was originally very weary of this new "couch surfing" idea until I had my first experience in Traverse City, MI. My boyfriend and I stayed with an absolutely wonderful, warm and welcoming family that completely exceeded any expectations I may have had. I can't thank them and my boyfriend enough for opening my eyes to the kindness of people in this community!

I've only officially been on CouchSurfing for a short while now, but each experience gives me one more reason to love this movement! Whether it's meeting someone in my own town for a drink and some travel advice or being hosted by someone during my travels, I've always come out of it with some new knowledge, idea, friend or at least something to laugh about!

Interests

In love and overly-passionate about travel and photography!!! I love to be outside; whether it's reading a book in the park, laying on the beach, or competing in a triathlon. I've been ice skating since I was little and will never give up my love for being in the rink and teaching the little ones!

I could write a lot but I guess to sum everything up, I love the outdoors (especially the beach), traveling, photography, exploring new places, summer concerts, cooking, craft beers and breweries, reading, cycling, hiking, swimming, ice skating, hockey, happy hour, great conversations and new friendships.. oh and a good margarita :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Love my country music! I'm really a country girl at heart but I love everything from R&B to Pop to Classic Rock. Some of my all-time favorites are Kenny Chesney, DMB, Journey, Sister Hazel, Tom Petty, the Eagles, Counting Crows, Adele, Dispatch, Jack Johnson, etc etc etc. The way to my heart? A live concert! Always the best type of music out there, doesn't matter who it is.

Favorite movie of all time will always be Fast Times at Ridgemont High - no real reason, I could just watch this movie time and time again :) I like romantic comedies, scary movies, movies that challenge the mind and anything that will keep me awake! (I'm the WORST at staying awake during movies). Some of my favorites include Wedding Crashers, Old School, Superbad, the Hangover, Miracle, Crash and the Pursuit of Happyness.

I love love love reading but I don't set aside enough time as I'd like to do it these days. My favorite author right now is Malcolm Gladwell; if you haven't read any of his books definitely go pick one up! I like reading anything that makes me think, psychology, business related topics, photography books, health books and magazines, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was lucky enough to live and study in Belgium for 4 months, which without a doubt opened up my eyes to the amazing world we live in. The opportunities and excitement of world travel are endless and I can't wait for my next adventure!

I've also road-tripped across the US once with my boyfriend and hope there will be many many more trips like this.. currently planning a cycling trip across the country for summer 2013 :) bring it on!

Skydiving in the Florida Keys was pretty awesome too, thanks Mark! :)
