About Me

Interests

Coffee, food, books, travelling, rock climbing, skating, fiddling around with photoshop, watching assorted TV series, rugby (as a spectator), drinking very very little alcohol and breaking out in a splendid rash, foot massages, singing along to my car radio despite knowing almost none of the lyrics. But mainly coffee, food and books (in blissful combination).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) A mola mola off the waters of Nusa Penida, Bali. I dived at the tail-end of the monsoon season, and after a half hour submerged in cold, deep water with strong cross currents, I turned a lovely shade of grey-green. The mola mola hung around me and my grey-green group for a good 15 minutes. It was mind-boggling.

2) I got lost in the hills halfway to Bandipur (Nepal), and had to hitch a ride on a passing "TV Bus". The TV was broken, so the driver stuck a picture of Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet on the TV screen. And everyone looked pretty happy pretending to watch Titanic.

3) My father whizzing past me repeatedly after several cups of expresso in Italy. (He thought 'expresso' meant 'coffee to be drunk very, very quickly'.)

4) Listing 4 things when requested to list just 1.
