About Me

I lived for the last 12 years in London.

My calendar is a bit unpredictable in this period so cannot ensure that I can host. I'm still happy to hang out if times match :)

ig: @dbtunder

I love meeting people, from all over the world; I like travelling and hosting people that both I already know or I don't, and I'm very curious about cultures that are new for me.
I used to be a member of BEST www.best.eu.org and now a member of BAN www.bestalumni.net and that helps a lot to improve my knowledge of Europe, my interpersonal skills and to increase my desire of exploring the world.

Some of my favourite quotes:
Carpe diem!
Memories live longer than dreams
Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the interaction with different people and different cultures. I believe that this kind of interaction is the key to a more balanced world.

I've been hosting in and outside CS forever, and I want to keep hosting!
It's been so many years now that one of my criteria, when I search for a new house, is to have a proper couch, for my couchsurfers :D

I am determined to travel more and more, so get your couch ready! :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been travelling quite a lot - compared to the average person - but not enough - if I think about some of my friends and how much I'd like to explore the world.

Amazing things...
It's been amazing to learn how to fly with a paraglide; attend many crazy parties; sleeping 3 hours per night for an entire week; having a night shower in Turin's public fountains; partying with weird wigs in NYE just under the Big Ben, bungee jump from a bridge on the Alps, sleep on a Treehouse in Laos and swimming an an amazing laguna in Krabi, getting lost in the Negev Desert, hiking on the top of Chile at 5000m

But what is stuck more in my memory is definitely the encounters I did and how those made me feel in those moments and how they sometimes changed my approach towards life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook some simple and quick Italian dishes, facts and stories and nice spots around the city, how to ride a bike, some basics in the languages that I know or am learning :D

What I offer to my guests can go from a simple comfortable couch with clean sheets to a nice dinner and a great walk somewhere in the city, according to my calendar though!

Some services may be very helpful though:
Giffgaff - mobile SIM card
If you're coming from outside the EU, you'd want to have an English sim card (it allows you to use the internet all over Europe) - this is the cheapest operator and gives both £5 bonus if using this code when subscribing https://www.giffgaff.com/orders/affiliate/dbtunder
I can also give you a sim card once you're in London if needed.

ViaVan - cheap rides across London
This Uber-like service is cheaper and focused more on shared rides. using this code it will allow you to have 3 rides with 4£ discount. rides in central London are around £3 each, so it may even get convenient if compared with the public transport - my code is cloe2m7 (ensure to "redeem" it once installed) the app can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/2BrDcUc

Revolut - online account
If you're a traveller you may want to have a proper traveller pre-paid debit card. Revolut is just amazing and makes you save tons of money on the currency exchange
Inserting your phone number using this link, it will allow having the card for free: https://revolut.com/referral/davideywl!G10D21

What I Can Share with Hosts

My smile, my tidiness, and my wisdom :D
And then,
Some silly tales of the past, some great moment in the present, and some amazing ideas for the future

Then, of course, some good drinks and food (I can cook fairly well!), if they are welcome ;)
