About Me
Wow I really needed to update my profile...
I am a computer techie that works for a school district working as a sysadmin/network analyst.
My wife is an occupational therapist. We live in sunny San Diego, Ca.
We love culture, traveling, good books, good movies, good drinks, good conversations, and great friends.
I dabble with cigars, and my wife and I are currently on a wine kick.
If we are asking to stay with you, it's not because we are trying to save money. Rather, all my best experiences were hanging out with the locals and getting to know them. We always gift (depending on what your interests are on your profile) and always love a good conversation.
If you are asking to stay with us, please tell me your favorite game to play as a secret question.
We DO have dogs. A Presa Canario and a small Cairn Terrier. They are family to us and love people just about as much as we do! So please, no one with dog allergies or afraid to get a lot of love from our dogs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I'm not traveling, i'd like to invite you to join me in my abode. I can tell you everything there is to see in San Diego, I can suggest some great things to do while down here as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch surfed back in 2008 and had the best time of my life with life long friends in holland. Sadly, it's become more and more difficult to find "authentic" couchsurfing experiences. Trying to get hosted, we notice that many "hosts" are simply trying to hook-up with single ladies. We are hoping to host people more now that we have a free guest room!
Interests
Computers, Games, Books, Snowboarding, Paintballing, Motorcycles, Good Wine, Good Beer, Hydro Boarding, Camping
Music, Movies, and Books
Black Mirror. Children of the Corn (All of them). Avatar. 5th Element. Independence Day. Anything that will scare the hell out of me.
I'm big into Science Fiction and Fantasy, my wife prefers non-fiction (favorite author for her is Malcolm Gladwell).
We are both love listening to podcasters.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning man 2008. My first experience was something that was of an eye opening experience for me. I never realized how open and loving complete strangers could be and actually inspired some hope that not all people are cold and self-absorbed as they tend to be in San Diego.
To say I had fun is an insult to the experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
My life philosophy are summarized as such:
1) Live life with no regrets.
2) Understand what Empathy is.
3) Live a life of value.
4) Be Generous to others.
5) Change is the only constant in the universe.
I won't go into too many details, but my wife and I are very open to discussing spirituality and philosophy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
It really depends on the hosts we stay with. In every case, we are open to spending time with our host to share our experiences and discuss some mutually interesting topics of conversation. Whether it's religion, government, spirituality, philosophy, or just plain goofing off. Some hosts we gift based on their profile. Some we create longer lasting relationships that extend an invitation for them to come stay with us.
