About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to live life to the full.

ABOUT ME

We are a British-American couple who met in Opole, Poland and have taught English in Japan, Kyrgyzstan, and Poland. We are in the process of moving to the Boston area where Nick will begin law school and Jess will have new adventures yet to be determined...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hosted our first Couch Surfer in Opole, Poland and enjoyed hosting quite a few travelers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. We've enjoyed surfing on couches/beds in Paris, Berlin, and Belgrade.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my (Nick's) time I have slept on beds, floors, sofa-beds, futons, sleeping bags, tents in fields, tents in gardens, car seats. My brother once slept in a bathtub but he didn't enjoy it.
CS has given us the opportunity to meet a bunch of wonderful people from all around the world. We've taken a few years' break while we've been trying to decide which continent to settle on, but we're excited to get back into it!

Interests

Travel (duh), cycling, reading, cryptic crosswords, chess, cooking, eating, drinking, movies, football, shopping, music, keeping fit, scrabble, dancing, the vagaries of English grammar. Not all of these apply to both of us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jess: riding a dirtbike in Zimbabwe, seeing Victoria Falls and visiting a hermitage in Korea.

Teach, Learn, Share

Although you can reheat your cold cup of tea in a microwave, it is inadvisable to do so more than once per cup as it imparts a slightly metallic flavour.
