My name is Deanna - I am a photographer/artist from Canada and have been traveling quite a bit over the last five years. I love to meet people and share stories and good conversation. I speak very introductory Spanish and Slovak, and intermediate French. I am pretty easy-going, slightly introverted but very friendly :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have not used Couchsurfing much over the last several years, but am interested in becoming a more active member. At this time I am traveling through Central America with my partner and we are interested in meeting new people and learning some Spanish! Couchsurfing seems like a great way to do these things!

Intereses

I am a working artist and my main medium is analogue photography - I've been working in the darkroom for years and always happy to share my knowledge of it.

Música, películas y libros

I particularly love to read! Right now a lot of Haruki Murakami and Milan Kundera (I suppose Slowness is my favourite of his), but I also love Joyce Carol Oates and Zadie Smith.

I enjoy all types of music - right now a lot of Nicolaas Jaar but Patti Smith is one of my longtime favourites.

Last year I spent my winter in the north of Iceland in a town of 800 people. Every evening I would take walks on the coast line and follow the northern lights.
