About Me

Most people know me as Fish. If you're after the wickedly underwhelming tale behind that, I'm happy to spin the yarn at the bargain basement price of 3 beers. I'm a country lad who likes to make a good impression and who is, in reality, pretty simple. I did a couple of years of Euro living and as a dude who comes from a town of 1000, I was blown away at how many awesome people there are out there. Like - shit. It sort of worries me that I won't be able to meet you all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a certain type of person welcomes a raggedy Australian into their home and shows them around their city. They're the sort of people I feel like I want to be around. And there's more of those types on here than anywhere.

Interests

I don't mind keeping active, especially by way of watersports. My summers in Australia revolve around dragging our boat 2 hours from home down the river and waterskiing & wakeboarding all day. I like that there's absolutely no point to it. You don't really compete. Some dude just strapped planks to his feet for a laugh one day and told his mate to drag him behind his boat. Then it caught on. What a lad.

It took me a while to be able to grow one but now that I can, I've got a keen interest in beards

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I like my Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie flicks. Will Ferrell and Monty Python tickle my funny bone. A good documentary never goes astray because learning, my friends, is FUN.

Music - I don't want to sound like a wanker here but I just like anything alternative. I get excited by all bar Top 40 music. I'll usually take a guitar over a synth, but it's not a firm rule. I also am very open to oldies.

Books - So it turns out that Kindle give you free books if they're out of copyright, so this thrifty young man has got right into the classics. Have you heard about this Dickens fella? He's JUST ACE. I'd usually take Non-Fiction over Fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago I placed in the top 10 of the Gloucester Cheese roll. If you're unfamiliar it's worth a look on YouTube.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have the time and the will, I'll teach you how to throw a chip into someone else's drink from 5 metres consistently. Name a situation where that is not handy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beers and storytimes. I have been told that due to my word choices I can be a bit hard to understand at times so I'll do my best to keep on the straight and narrow.
