About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

Christian. Filipino. son. brother. cultural worker. graduate student. literature major. researcher. writer. teacher. aspiring diplomat.

Dwells in a southern suburb. Outgoing. An "A" stude in a one-on-one class (don't ask!) Resilient in any adversities, and proving what my family name stands for! Confident, yet modest. Fast paced. Finds his solitude a time to contemplate. Funny, yet serious. Focused, yet perplexed. Elusive, but not evasive. Interested in meeting people from all walks of life. A politics aficionado and law extraordinaire, mom said. A dedicated person. Pragmatic, but idealistic. Persuasive. Proud to be PINOY; yet has penchant for some foreign ideologies. Compelling, somehow. Perfectionist (according to some), but in all candor, I just hate rejections and failures. Attends much into details, said critics. "Pours himself over dictionary& thesaurus, and uses those $64m words an aplomb, with lode of witticisms," said ed. Has conviction!!! Hardworking, yet procrastinating at times. Steadfast. "Small in stature is no barrier to personal effectiveness."--my credo in life! In mobile. Always everywhere. Inspired by the passionate patience of Carlos P. Romulo, Marjorie Evasco, Cirilo Bautista among other writers, I have learned to love and now loving every single work of art, any finished literary output, especially poetry and literary translation! They have opened my eyes and every human faculty I have, to be sensible about the "concealment of Art," the "roundabout way in poetry," "the art to saying one thing and meaning another," to "believe" in the power of literature and "betray" the duplicitous and gaudy world that passes itself off as true! It is indeed a pleasure to be in the literary world! Hopefully, I can live by my goal in this new undertaking& that is: to bridge the "gap" between politics and literature, as Nick Joaquin said, "Legalese can be Lit'ry." In sum, I'm just an average person who turns ordinary things extraordinary! Hey, feel free to dissent.
