Completing a Masters in Engineering in Sheffield and rock climb as much as I can in Europe!

ABOUT ME

I am an engineer by profession, graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, lived in the United States and graduated high school in New York, USA. I love traveling, living off a backpack, jumping around hostels around the world, meeting other travelers and exploring cities together with new found friends.

I currently live in Sheffield, UK. Apart from attending to my postgraduate degree courses, I rock climb quite often. It is my current passion!

I am originally from Malaysia, born and raised. I am a genuinely friendly person, always happy to make new friends and getting to know people. I also love, loooveee to engage in rewarding and extensive conversations with just about anyone who reciprocates.

I am always chatty and active, so active that it takes a lot to keep up! But I do enjoy quiet and relaxing time, lazying by a lake. I lovee lakes which is one of the reasons I love Switzerland and its Alpine lakes, read a crime and mystery book and listen to Yann Tiersen while traveling the coast of South France.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not done CS before but I was an exchange student, went for a homestay program and have hosted an exchange student as well as volunteered with the American Field Services in entertaining and participating with foreign exchange students during their stay in my country. Therefore, I don't consider myself a stranger to bunking in with a stranger!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just a bunch of homestay and exchange program experiences! I've been to Nagoya, Japan, Texas, New York and Germany all living with others. So I guess although those were not exclusively through CS, they pretty much count!

兴趣

I currently am committed to rock climbing and general well being. Also, I have a deep passion for music, instrumental generally also classical pieces. I do enjoy and adore Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, Emily Haines, Yann Tiersen and countless other talented musicians. I generally listen to anything that fits the moment. I love dogs. I have a rescue golden retriever/labrador mix. She is the love of my life. I enjoy passionate people who are not shy to share their interests and passion, I love to engage in a good conversation and generally get to know as many people as possible. I am most of the time fun and active, and practiced Tae Kwon Do and have a black belt as well as an instructors certificate in ITF Tae Kwon Do although those days are far behind and I no longer routinely practice this form of martial arts. I play the piano, organ, guitar and a little bit of drums. I can keep on writing, so this pretty much tells you about the kind of person I am!

I love crime and mystery books, other science & fiction novels. I enjoy slow and relaxing music but at times do enjoy the sensational top 40 songs. I especially enjoy listening to Yann Tiersen, Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae and the likes. You get the idea!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Bungy jumping in Switzerland at Stockhorn! I amazed myself by jumping off that gondola from a height of over 134 meters. The view from the fall was breathtaking but the experience was absolutely frightening since it was my first time. Apart from that, there were just countless moments where I felt genuine peace and admiration for the place that I was in during my travels.

I have worked with Unicef when I was in high school, went for homestay program, and exchange programs. I do enjoy exchanging experiences with people who are willing to listen and learn and talk about people, humanity and culture. I have travelled to almost 20 countries and would love to share my experiences with enthusiastic people.
