I signed up to Couchsurfing years ago but never used it due to a lack of courage and opportunity. Now that I'm writing for a living I have far more opportunity to travel, be it for events that I'm covering/speaking at or just for the joy of it. Either way, Couchsurfing will allow me to meet a wide variety of people that I never would otherwise, and hopefully to forge friendships and experience new cities/countries in a unique way.
