Music, Movies, and Books

right now i'm really digging Murakami for books. my all time favorite is the great gatsby, though and i'm a huge fan of short stories.

as far as music, i like everything but i tend to be a bit of an old soul so jazz, funk and the like tends to be on rotation at the house these days. in a previous life i was a hip-hop producer/dj so i'm a major hip-hop nerd. my roomate and i can both play a bit of guitar (he's much better than me) so if you like playing music we're down to 'jam' or whatever.

as far as movies...i like just about anything. recently i've been revisiting a lot of my old favorites...dying to watch 'ghost dog' again sometime soon. i'm a sucker for woody allen, david lynch, the coen brothers and scorsese...among others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i had a few cold ones on a boat in plakias (southern crete) and watched the sun go down...that was the defining moment of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

of all the things i've learned from travel these three are the most important:
1) there's nothing like clean underwear
2) never pass up an opportunity to pee
3) people are what truly makes a place special to you...i would trade a million visits to the great sites of the world for one great conversation in a dingy bar in the middle of nowhere.
