About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Carpe Diem, keep open minded

ABOUT ME

I'm a mature fellow and I doesn't want to let my brain grow jellylike, so I do my best to keep lively and active.
My membername - Degolarson - is composed after Pierre DEsproges, Luis reGO, and Gary LARSON, who are my best-loved humorists, as well as Andy Capp and many others.

PHILOSOPHY

First, "Carpe Diem" which means "harvest the best of every day". It doesn't mean having fun out of everything but accept life as it is, with its joys and sad times.
Second, keeping a sense of humor, trying to make fun out of the ordinary little miseries
I've been deeply influenced by my readings of CG Jung and Taoist philosophers. Some others are Paul Veyne, Michel Foucauld, Nietzsche, Deleuze.. in the serious field. I consider Pierre Desproges as a major philosopher-humorist, like Luis Rego, as they make us laugh about human miseries and take the mick out of people who find themselves superior. Derision is the best weapon to fight solemness and overpride

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard of couchsurfing by my son Etienne Gernez who lives in Oslo. I stayed at his place in Oslo during my holidays in July 2008 and met some other couchsurfers, all of them so funny, interesting characters. I found the idea so great that I decided to register and meet some people in France or abroad.
