About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living while travelling and keeping on finding a place and plan to start my own permaculture and sustainable living project.

ABOUT ME

I mainly love rock climbing and mountaineering, swimming, mountain cycling, canyoning and as much outdoor sports as possible. I currenlty started doing acrobalance, and I've rescued my volleyball skills from school and started beach volleyball last summer. Yes, even in Scotland you can do without losing any toe or limb. :)

I also love extreme sports without the nonesensical risk. And rafting, among many others, are in my to-do-list.

For more details... just ask. ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let others to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people (human beings preferably) for any activity like music, outdoors or nights out. Getting to know other cultures is always an amazing and necessary experience in life. Places are like empty books, people like pens and experiences the actual ink that writes and draws our best memories.

The feeling I got when I knew about this platform many years ago was according to my believes: the less money involved, the richer the experience. It is the beginning of a new way of thinking out of the destructive way of capitalism.

All events in CS are also of great help to meet new people when starting living abroad.

Interests

Most activities that require your brain to work, your body to sweat, and the muscles in charge of smiling to be painful next day are welcome.

I also love sleeping 10 hours after a good expedition or adventure out. All effort needs a good reward.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films:
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
With Love from Paris
Trainspotting
The fight club
Love me if you dare
Green butchers

and all sort of B films.

Music

Mostly anything but mainstream music. Reggaeton have some funny effect in my brain and makes me cry and think about the decay of human race. Sorry.

I love house, rock, indie, traditional and folk music. There is a music for every moment and a lifetime is not enough to listen to all beautiful things out there.

My readings are mainly technical (construction, permaculture, mycology,....) but I must admit that the book that has marked me the most in the last months is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. I strongly recommend it and it is freely available in OpenSource, PDF format.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a very personal experience, I learned how to swim by myself when I was 20 after having a near-to-death experience when I was 5.

In terms of experiences, I rode my bicycle from Thurso (Scotland) all the way down to Edinburgh (about 720Km) in 6 days and a half on my own, a truly magical experience. I am also proud of having used a snow sledge naked in the far north of Norway. Right after 20 mins sauna, of course.

Teach, Learn, Share

I was working as a computing teacher years ago and I consider that we waste a lot of time with technology so being efficient will make computer usage more efficient, so maybe I can help people on IT skills for both home and professional users. Language tandems were also common to me when I moved to Scotland. There is no better way to learn than teaching whatever one knows best.

I have been learning Japanese woodworking during the past 3 years and I love taking about joints, finishings, design and different ways of using it. I am hoping I will use this knowledge in natural building which will help to make my own wooden house. At some point. Somewhere. Soon...

What I Can Share with Hosts

My time, my experiences, nonesense and a good laugh. Let's be honest, the host is the one giving others the chance to meet their plans for a specific trip, so spending time and being thankful for every minute of company is the least a
