About Me

Hiya, Delaney here! I come from the midwest, currently living in the southwest, and slowly finding my place (or places) in this big, exciting world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to the Couchsurfing community, so I am hoping some of you veterans can show me the way of the land.

I am currently using Couchsurfing to explore cities, learn the niche culture, and imagine myself living in various areas around the US post-graduation. Right now, I am a student living in a tiny area that would unfortunately not be very accommodating to guests. I am looking forward to the opportunity to open up my home to all you wonderful people once I graduate (one more year)!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to share a quick story:

It was my first time overseas. I visited Nepal, specifically to spend a couple weeks trekking in the Himalayas. I was drawn to the land, the mountains, their perceived wonder and magnificence. And they were. They were indescribably beautiful, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have found myself in the middle of them.

Reflecting on this experience, however, I realize the real impact of the trip came from the people: the locals I stayed with and the trekkers I met. I was transformed, not by where I went or what I saw, but instead by who I met and what I learned. This experience paved way for a new intent for travel: to allow my story to be shaped by finding my place within the stories of others.

So, I invite you to become a part of my journey, and hope I can become a small part of yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d be happy to cook a veg meal for/with you, make some tea/coffee, play games, listen to your story, do art, engage in your favorite hobby...

If you’d like to hang, let’s do it! If you don’t, no worries! I am a pretty relaxed traveler that enjoys absorbing the unique parts of each region. What’s your favorite part of your city? I’d love to check it out. :)
