ABOUT ME

I laugh a lot and I am not very good with small talk. I love meeting new people, though! I've been traveling ever since I was 11-12 years old and I'm addicted to traveling.
I love cooking and making sandwiches. I eat a lot but it is a misery to eat with me if you are in a hurry, because I am the slowest eater/drinker in the WORLD. I exaggerate like a true Turkish girl.
I can stay under the water for a long time, I am unbeatable when it comes to holding my breath underwater. I love everything sea-related.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live my life? Uhm..damn you CS, you just made me get into a huge existentialist debate in my head, I'll get back to you on this.
But my family is the most important thing in my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved into the BEST flat in the country. It is right in the middle of the city centre, on a street with art studios and tons of cafes/clubs/restaurants. This is the only spot in the city where ALL metro lines meet, and it is a beautiful flat. I can host 2-3 people on mattresses/couches in my living room. I just want to share this awesome experience of living in such a great place :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never had the opportunity to host before, but I've met lots of couchsurfers through friends who were hosting and I enjoyed those experiences a lot.

Interests

Almost everything interests me, I clapped the first time I was introduced to Gödel-numbering (some mathematical/logic theorem), I actually clapped..that's how enthusiastic I was about a bunch of prime numbers. I love my family, traveling, chess, sharks, James Joyce, watching ballet, maths, the internet, rockband, (don't have the game at my place, though) Yeah, I guess I am a bit of a geek. So many more things interest me, but I usually spend my time cooking, researching the web, reading and hanging out with friends. But I love trying out all kinds of extreme stuff, I love adrenaline. Fast motorrides, bungee jumping, climbing stuff...etc. And sometimes I get on a tram and stay on it for hours whilst listening to music. Nothing beats listening to music on a tram.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Salinger, Baricco, Joyce, Vonnegut, Rilke, Kafka, Thomas Mann, Hermann Hesse, Douglas Adams..etc. There are so many! --
Music: Right now I'm very into classical music: Schubert, Bach, Rachmaninov, but I also like..punk and ska. Yeah. And I'm a huge Ani diFranco fan, Fiona Apple, too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll get back to this, because I travel approx. every 3 months, so I've seen some very amazing stuff. Also: I have a HUGE and crazy family, who are the most fun and awesome people I know, who do the most amazing things, such as the 30+ of us camping by the seaside every summer for a month, all of us in a HUGE tent that only has 3 "walls", we eat whatever we fish from the sea and find on the frui trees around us, we don't even put on shoes for those 4 weeks, because, basically, we dont ever have to. Every day spent there is an amazing experience that I remember for years and years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to enjoy food :) make sandwiches and cupcakes and very simple dishes. I'm also very good at doing nothing and enjoying it a lot, which is something some people are incapable of -I can teach how to do that, as well. Also I can show some beautiful maths proofs that I like, talk about all kinds of internet research stuff and I also have a VAST knowledge of funfacts about sharks.
I'd love to learn programming and how to find the places where there are tons of people enjoying themselves, dancing and singing and letting go.
